Obituary	JOHN MOORE HILL 1831 - 1911 John Moore Hill was born in Exeter, Maine, August 20, 1831, the son of Valentine and Olive (Rogers) Hill. He married Lydia Gertrude Lovell, daughter of Sewell and Anna (Brown) Lovell, They had four children, Walter E., Winnifred, Eugene and Alice. John Hill was a well known person in Dexter. For a good many years he was a member of the firm of Jenkins and Hill, Grocers, located in the old Eaton store standing on the northerly side of Main street between Church and Grove Streets. (Now occupied by the Thurston and Kingsbury store.) Both members of the firm were good natured and accommodating and gained many friends. The children all liked to trade with Mr. Hill and they caught many rides on the delivery wagon. Mr. Hill died in Dexter on May 8, 1911.
