Obituary	FOREST G. SMITH Funeral services were held at the Staples Funeral Home at Gardiner Tuesday afternoon for Forest G. Smith, 60, who died Sunday morning at the Gardiner General Hospital after a long period of failing health. He was born at St. Albans, Apr. 2, 1897, son of Theodore and Nina (Ross) Smith. Well-known as an orchestra and band leader, he had been a piano tuner for 30 years. At one time he was employed at Dexter but more recently had operated a piano store at Hallowell. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys S. Smith; a daughter, Mrs. Elaine LaPierre of Wells; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Goulette of Dexter; two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
