ALMON C. CROCKER A high Mass of Requiem for Almon Clinton Crocker, 73, a former resident of Dexter, who died January 1 in a Turners Falls, Mass. Hospital after a short illness was sung January 4 at St. Anne's Catholic Church at Turners Falls. Interment was in St. Anne's cemetery. He was born at Lee December 22, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Crocker. His wife, the former Mabel Tardif of Caribou, predeceased him in 1953. Mr. Crocker spent most of his life in Maine, having been employed as chef at the Exchange Hotel, Dexter, the Vaughn House, Caribou; the Jones Inn, Newport; the Ritz - Foley Restaurant, Bangor; the Great Northern Hotel Millinocket; and at several summer resorts. For the past 15 years he had been employed in the Millers Falls Company Plant at Millers Falls, Mass. as a grinder. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Cloutier of Portland, Mrs. Arleen De Fazio of Greenfield, Mass., Mrs. Sheila Newton of Millers Falls, Mass.; four sons, Lawrence of Lynfield Center, Mass., Eldred of Portsmouth, N. H., Sheldon of Turners Falls, Mass., and Jon Kevin of Greenfield, Mass.; eight grandchildren and several brothers and sisters in Maine.
