Obituary
Services Held For Almon Page Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Almon R. Page, 70, a former postmaster at Dexter and more recently, manager of the State Liquor Store in this town. The husband of Kathryn (Smart) Page, be died Friday morning at the Cushman Nursing Home after a long illness. The Rev. Richard J. Norsworthy of the First Universalist Church officiated. Bearers were: Eben and Manford Page, Wendell Davis, Gerald Dyer, Adolph Dyer, all of Dexter, and Paul Page of Sangerville. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. He was born at Dexter, Dec. 8, 1887, the son of Eben and Estelle (Roebuck) Page. After being employed for several years as a railway mail clerk, he became a rural mail carrier in this area. He was then appointed Dexter postmaster and held the position for several years prior to becoming manager of the State Liquor Store where he remained until his retirement a few years ago because of failing health. He was a member of the Dexter Club and the First Universalist Church of Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons Almon R. Jr. of S. Portland, Samuel B. of Portland and Rodney of Dexter; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
