Obituary
OVELLA J. AMBROSE Ovelia J. Ambrose, 53, of Railroad ave., Dexter was fatally injured about 10:35 o'clock Saturday night when the car which he was driving struck and broke a power pole in front of the George Pitcher home in Corinna. Dr. Robert F. Gloor of Corinna was called to the scene of the accident, and had the injured man taken to a Bangor hospital where he later died. The cause of death was noted as chest injuries by Medical Examiner Dr. John Sullivan of Brewer. State Trooper Robert Marcia, Dexter, said the accident is still under investigation. A Requiem High Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Eugene Michaud at St. Anne's Catholic Church Tuesday at 9 a. m. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Bearers: Douglas Gilbert, Robert Gilbert, Armand Poirier, and Arthur Bailey, all of Dexter; Archie Ruel, Lewiston, and Reginald La Plante, Franklin, N, H. He was born at Dexter, April 15, 1904, son of Amos and Susan (Clukey) Ambrose. He had spent his entire life in Dexter, and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Survivors are his wife, Adrian (Clukey) Ambrose; a son, Clayton of Dexter; two daughters, Mrs. Charlene Plourde, Skowhegan, and Virginia Ambrose, Dexter; five sisters, Mrs. Georgia Pyer, Lewiston, Mrs. Marcelle LaPlante and Mrs. Sadie Ruel, both of Franklin, N. H., Mrs. Ellen Gilbert and Mrs. Marguerite Bailey, both of Dexter; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
