Obituary
Dexter, Maine - With sadness, we announce that George Raymond Crossman went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2025. George was born to Lillian Davis and Raymond Crossman on August 30, 1941. Before her passing, he and his beloved wife, Ann, were married for 52 years. George had 4 daughters that he was very proud of, Sheri with her husband, Troy Nightingale, and her family, Jeannie with her husband, Steve Hatch, and her family, Lisa with her husband, Albert Dowling, and Lynne with her husband, Mark Twombly, and her family. George had many friends that were like family to him, including Mike with his wife, Peggy Woodward, and his family. George was Grampy to 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, Cara, who was waiting for him in Heaven. Life with George was always entertaining and filled with adventure, especially when it came to fishing and hunting. His many adventures to KI and the north woods will be recounted for generations. Before settling into life George served his country as a mechanic in the Armed Forces, spending time in Germany and Holland. After a connection with God, George served the Lord with joy and determination. He was a devoted Sunday School teacher for many years at the Gospel Lighthouse A/G in Milo, a church he helped build with the Rev. Oliver Nason. Over the last few years, he loved being assistant pastor at Dexter Pentecostal Church in Dexter. He proudly became an ordained minister and was able to marry two of his grandchildren. George will be missed by the many friends and family that loved him. A memorial service will be held on July 19 at 1 p.m. at Dexter Pentecostal Church with a gathering following at the Silver Lake Housing Complex on Summit Street, Dexter, Maine. A private burial will be held in Medford, Maine, soon after. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of George, please visit our floral store . Published on July 7, 2025
