Dexter - Thomas Arthur Ronco, 85, of Dexter, died December 31, 2024. He was born July 21, 1939, at the Pummer Memorial Hospital in Dexter, the son of Arthur and Adelaide (Clukey) Ronco. He was the oldest of four children. Tom worked in several grocery stores while attending high school, including Nichol's Market, the first National Store, and the Lakeside Market. Following graduation from Dexter High School in 1957, he was employed at Fayscott-Landis in Dexter as a machine operator for three years. In 1960 he entered Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated in 1964. Tom began a career in education in the fall of 1964 in Corinna. His career in education lasted more than thirty years, ending in Dexter as part of the Adult Education staff at Dexter High School. He served as a member of the 946 Transportation Company Army Reserves in Dexter from 1958 to 1964. After completing basic training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, he was assigned to the dining hall at the reception station where he finished his six-month active duty training. Tom was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church where he served as an Extra-ordinary Minister of the Eucharist taking the Eucharist to hospitals, nursing homes, and the home-bound beginning in 1983 and continuing for many years. He enjoyed wearing flannel shirts, eating chocolate chips, helping neighbors, and watching his family grow and succeed. He read extensively about the Korean War and maintained a library of books, magazines, and maps if that conflict, some of which were donated to Dexter High School and Abbott Memorial Library. He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Orcutt and her husband, Michael, of Dexter, and Sandra Deyette and her husband, Greg, of Epping, New Hampshire; a brother, John Ronco and his wife, Patricia, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two sisters, Teresa Denbow and her husband, David, of Dexter, and Barbara Murray and her husband, Wilfred, of Dexter; three grandchildren, Joshua Orcutt of Epping, New Hampshire, Matthew Orcutt and his wife, Molly, of Bridgewater, Maine, and Sara Orcutt and Gage Donnell of Dexter; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, Daniel and Benson Orcutt of Bridgewater; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Helena M. (Laflamme) Ronco, in June 2023. Visiting hours are Friday, January 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Crosby and Neal in Dexter. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, at St. Anne's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's name may be made to Our Lady of the Snow's Parish, P.O.
