Obituary	GARLAND - Merton Weston Mills, age 74, passed away March 19, 2024, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. Merton was born May 31, 1949 in Presque Isle, Maine, to the late John and Margaret Cunningham. He attended Dexter Schools. Following school Merton moved to Guilford, Connecticut, where he married his wife and raised his children. Merton owned and managed an antique store called Traders, and eventually moved his family and business to Maine. He made many acquaintances and connections in Maine at his Scavengers as people passed through. Merton lived his life for his family, always putting the needs of others before his own. Merton was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Margaret Cunningham, daughter Jennifer Mills, brothers David Mills, Douglas Mills, Leroy Mill, and John Cunningham. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgianna Mills, daughter Tracy Mills, Jonathan Mills, Merton Mills, Jr. and his wife Kristen, Heaven Mills and her partner Cameron, many grandchild/great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Gary Cunningham and his wife Lucinda, Brent Cunningham and his partner Jodie, Brian Cunningham, Dale Cunningham, Clayton Cunningham Harris. A special thanks to those that were always ready to offer Merton a helping hand and spent the last few days at his side: Merton, Kristen, Heaven, Cameron, Royalty, Hailee, Brent, Kyle, James, Laura, Jodie, and Steve.
