STANLEY S. MARTIN Funeral services were held at the home on the Airport rd., Sunday afternoon for Stanley Stuart Martin, 59, who was drowned July 31 in a fishing accident between Greenville and Rockwood. The Mormon service was in charge of Elder David L. Robbins of Old Town. Bearers were: Josephd Lancaster, Floyd Merrill, Linwood Seavey, Everett Bennett, Olan Burton, and Mervin Haskell, all of Dexter. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemeter, Dexter. He was born at Corinna, Oct. 3, 1897, son of Mrs. Sarah Stewart Martin of Spring st., Dexter, and the late Charles R. Martin. A resident of Dexter nearly all of his life, he was a graduate of Dexter High School and attended Colby College. He was employed as fireman at the Dumbarton Mill here, and had been engaged in farming for several years. He is survived by his wife, Virginia May Martin; two daughters, Mona L. and Frances S. Martin; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Martin; all of Dexter; a sister, Mrs. Gladys McCormick of Lynn, Mass., two stepsons, Allan Perry Whitmore of Orono and Harry Whitmore of Dexter.
