DEXTER/SAN FRANCISCO - Jacquelyn Ready Estrella, 76, passed away on November 26, 2023 at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield after a long illness. She was born on May 24, 1946 to Richard and Clara (Turner) Ready in Bangor, Me. She attended Corinna schools and graduated from Corinna Academy in 1965. She eagerly embarked on her life journey that would eventually lead her to San Francisco where she met her husband, Richard Estrella. She was a passionate journalist in her heart and she fearlessly penned her thoughts on a wide spectrum of topics, always leaning towards the controversial. Her journalistic endeavors materialized in the form of two newspapers, namely the Pittsburgh Courier and The Glen Park. Among her notable achievements was an interview with Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda of the SF Giants. Dancing through life her heart rhythm in the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley. She would often speak of her cherished memories on her visit to Graceland. After leaving her SF home she moved to Dexter and resided here for the past 18 years. A devoted Buddhist she wore her faith and family as badges of honor. In a league of her own she stood as a paragon of honesty, humor, and kindness. The family would like to thank the staff at Sebasticook Valley Hospital for their care, and a special thanks to her dear friend Sherry Hopkins for her loyal care and assistance to Jacquelyn. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Clara Ready, her husband Richard, and several aunts and uncles. Left to cherish her memory is her brother Stephen and his wife Sharon, her two daughters Trina and Jackie Kelly, her grandchildren Madison and Matthew, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
