Dexter - Rosalie (Clement) Goulette, 92, passed away peacefully December 11, 2023, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born October 29, 1931, in Parkman, a daughter of Ralph and Anna Mae (Elderkin) Clement. Rosalie graduated from Dexter schools. She married her husband, Raymond "Bill" Goulette in 1953. They were married for 52 years up until the time of his death in 2005. Together they owned and operated the Sterling Hotel in Dexter, for over 50 years. The Sterling became more than just a business; it became a living legacy, creating lifelong memories of family and friends. She was a hard worker and a great bartender. Rosalie was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Rosalie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved her family deeply and was always willing to help them in any way she could. She loved to cook and looked forward to making Sunday dinners for her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for travel and loved going on cruises and trips with Cookie and Brenda. Rosalie had a loving, outgoing personality that everyone enjoyed being around. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and husband, Nicholas Vafiades, of Dexter, as well as their children, Brandon, Danielle, Aaron and wife, Marissa Vafiades, Kelly Haines, Nick Vafiades, Jr.; her son David and his wife, Ann Goulette, of Dexter, and their children, Joshua and wife, Leilani Goulette, Shawn and wife, Breanna Goulette, Brandy Grant, James and wife, Jaxy McEwen; as well as 20 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Lexi, Brianna, Sadie, Dax, Sophie, Theo, Ryan, Tyler, Nicole, Jake, Jordan, Ivy, Willow, Evelyn, Keith, Gabrielle, Ezra, Moses, and Lila; sister-in-law, Irene Sevey; 3 special nieces, Cookie, Brenda and Debbie; as well as many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Rosalie was predeceased by her sister, June McKenney; as well as her brothers, Bruce and Fred Clement; a special nephew, Fred McKenney; and niece, Dolly Rankin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, December 18, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 64 Free Street, Dexter, with the Rev. Father Rob Lupo officiating.
