Obituary
NORMAN E. HIGHT Funeral services were held at Rochester, N. H., last Saturday morning for Norman E. Hight, 46, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman W. Hight of Upper Main st., Dexter. He died July 25 at his home in that city after a short illness. Military services were conducted by members of the American Legion Post and the 40 and 8 of Rochester, who were bearers, and members accompanied the body to Dexter where a committal service was held Saturday afternoon at Mt. Pleasant cemetery with the Rev. Howard E. Benson of the Methodist Church officiating. Alton Crosby and Richard Robinson assisted in the service by sounding taps. Formerly of Dexter, Mr. Hight was a graduate of N. H. Fay High School. He had lived in Rochester about 16 years and was employed as a machinist at the Portsmouth Navy Yard. During World War II he served in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific area. He was a member of Humane Lodge No. 21, F. and A. M., and Temple Chapter No. 20 of Rochester; Strafford County Voiture 961, 40 and 8; and American Legion Post No. 7, of which he was chaplain. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his parents, Mr. ad Mrs.Norma W. Hight, Dexter; brothers, Wayne S. of Dexter and Lewis D. of Red Bank, N. J., and a niece Nancy Hight of Red Bank.
