Obituary
MISS ETHELYN L. WILLIAMS Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, July 3, at the Harvey and Harvey Funeral Home in Guilford for Miss Ethelyn Lynn Williams, 25, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford L. Williams of Lincoln, formerly of Dexter. The Rev. Frederick Robie, Jr., of the First Congregational Church, Lincoln, officiated. Interment was in the family lot at Abbot Village cemetery. She was born in Dexter, Nov. 3, 1931 and lived here on Beech st. until her parents moved to Lincoln in 1939. She was graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1950 as valedictorian of her class. She attained high honors at Husson College, Bangor, and had held positions in the Department of Education at the U. of M., and the Hammond Organ Studio, Bangor. After taking the Civil Service examination she was employed in the Base Supply Division at Dw AFB for two years. She resigned in January to become a clerk-typist with the General Electric Co. in the Nuclear Ordnance Project Department in Philadelphia, where she remained until taken ill in May. She was the first worthy advisor of the Lincoln Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls; was a past Grand Immortality in the Grand Assembly of Maine; a member of Tuscan Chapt., OES, Bangor; and a member of the First Congregational Church of Lincoln. An accomplished musician, she played the pianop pipe organ and clarinet, and was a four year student at Farmington Music Camp. Besides her parents, she is survived by a grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Race of Abbot. Mrs. Charles Coy, Mrs. Herbert Downing, Mrs. Floyd Hammond and Miss Marion Henderson attended the service, representing Wassookeag Chapt. No. 44, OES of Dexter, in which the Williams were very active while living here.
