Obituary	Dexter - Phyllis Marie Cleaves, 84, died September 14, 2023, at a Portland hospital. She was born November 28, 1938, in Dexter, a daughter of Howard and Gladys (Hall) Tarr. She was a communicant of Our Lady of The Snows, St. Anne's Church, Dexter, and was retired from the Dexter Shoe Company. Her main focus in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons, Philip of Dexter, David and wife, Wendy, of Windham; a daughter, Debra and husband, Stephen Cunningham, of Sangerville; a brother, Donald Tarr of Florida, a sister, Sharon Smith of Waterville; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke, Chad, Joshua, Suzy, Amy, Joseph, and Jen; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Sr. A graveside committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter, with Deacon David Denbow officiating.
