Obituary
Dexter - It's with heavy hearts that we convey the loss of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Diana (Hartford) Warren was born in Dexter, Maine, on August 5, 1944, second child to Laurence and Yvonne (Knowles) Hartford. Diana grew up on a dairy farm in Dexter, where she was a bright and thoughtful schoolgirl who met her future husband, Donald Warren, at the roller-skating rink at Sebec Lake. She was a cheerleader for Dexter and he played football for their rival, Dover-Foxcroft. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1962. She was active on the yearbook staff and helped organize several class reunions. Diana worked in the tag office at the Dexter Shoe factory. When they moved their young family to southern Maine she worked as a CNA. She had a kind heart and tender way that made her a compassionate caregiver. She then worked at Key Bank in several locations as they made their way back to their hometown area. She spent many years working at Skowhegan Savings Bank in Dexter, and then retired from George Howard Insurance Agency. Those who knew Diana will remember her helpful nature and kind disposition. Diana enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and hosting parties and family gatherings. Diana and Don had an annual Labor Day pig roast with music and games for the kids. She enjoyed dancing with Don and socializing with friends. She liked to go cross-country skiing and had fun doing Zumba with all "the girls" in the garage on Railroad Avenue. Diana loved to travel and take vacations with Don and bus trips with her mother. She even traveled across the pond to Dubai and went on a desert safari with Scott's family. Diana was predeceased by her loving husband, Don Warren. She was part of the caregiving team for both of her parents at the end of their lives. She is also predeceased by a grandchild, Savannah Warren; a niece, Kathi Frautten and companion, Ken Pooler, and their dog, Mugsy. Diana is survived by her son, Scott Warren and his wife, Terri, and their pup, Charity; and her daughter, Shari Gregory and her husband, Paul. She is survived by four grandchildren, Jordan Boehmer and her husband, Chris, Rebecca Sheridan and her husband, Kyle, and Jasmine Gregory and Forest Gregory. She had three great-grandchildren, Rusty and River Vigue, and Evie Boehmer. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Frautten; and brother, Dana Hartford; and many extended family members and friends. She will be missed by many who loved her dearly. Diana spent the last year of her life with new friends at The Promenade Senior Living Center in Sebastian, Florida, where they called her Princess Di. She continued to care for others and help those less physically able at the Center until her recent illness. Many thanks to the folks at the Promenade and to the compassionate team at the William Childs Hospice Center in Palm Bay, Florida. A celebration of life will occur in the spring in Dexter, Maine. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Those who wish may leave written condolences at CrosbyNeal.com. To send flowers to the family of Diana Lee Warren, please visit Tribute Store.
