Obituary	DEXTER - Nancy Pearson Collins, 66, died peacefully after a long illness surrounded by her husband and children on July 24th, 2023, at her home in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Nancy was born in Dexter, Maine, to Robert and Arlene Pearson. She graduated from Nokomis High School in 1975 and received a certificate in radiological technology from Maine Medical Center in 1977, after which she went on to have a career in healthcare and medical services. Nancy eventually moved to Texas where she lived for the next three decades and met her husband of forty years, Kirby Collins, who she married in 1982. Kirby and Nancy had two children who they home-schooled together. The couple retired to New Mexico in 2017. Nancy was know for being down-to-earth and for her sometimes sassy sense of humor. In her role as both mother and teacher she encouraged creativity, intellectual curiosity, and especially a love of reading. She enjoyed long walks with her dogs, gardening, and a good murder mystery. She also loved taking road trips to hike and camp in the national parks, of which she and Kirby visited 37, often multiple times. Nancy will be remembered most for her bright smile and her love for her family. Nancy is survived by her husband Kirby Collins, children Kira and Marissa Collins, and sister Janice Pearson Smith. The family have elected not to have a public memorial service.
