Obituary	DEXTER - Chester J. Bekier, 68, passed away on August 3, 2023 after a short illness. Born on August 11, 1954 in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of Chester J. and Muriel (LaPrise) Bekier. He married Barbara Steiner in 1992 and that year moved to Ripley, Maine; fulfilling a dream of many years. Retiring from trucking in 2022 due to ill health, Chester spent much of his time hunting and fishing. He was a longtime member of Wayside Grange in No. Dexter. Always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need, his outgoing personality earned him many friends; among them Rick Kirchdorfer, the Paige family, the Qualey family and Nate Chadbourne. He leaves his wife, Barbara of Dexter, one sister, Valarie Stone and her children, Laurie and Daniel Stone all of Johnston,R.I. as well as several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Wayside Grange on Sunday, September 10 at 2 P.M.
