Obituary	NEWPORT – Roger Stuart Carr, 80, died peacefully January 18th, 2023 in Bentonville, AR. Roger was born April 24th, 1942, in Dexter to Ogden and Marguerite Carr. He grew up alongside his big brother Ogden Jr. and spent many a day hunting and fishing. He played basketball in high school and was known for his dry humor and quick wit. Roger married Ruthanne LaRosa and had three children. They divorced in 1977. Roger married the love of his life, Mary Teresa Mossey in 1982. They had grown up together in Dexter and enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage together. Daily, you would find Roger and Teresa at the local coffee spot with friends in the area to catch up on the events of the day. Roger graduated from Dexter High School in 1960 and a year later left to undertake a three-year apprenticeship at Pratt & Whitney, which he finished in 1964. Roger graduated from The University of Maine with a BA in Mathematics in 1970. He also served 6 years in the Army National Reserves. Roger held several managerial positions in his career including at Saco Defense in Saco and Ripley, TN, as well as at West Point Stevens in Biddeford. Upon Roger’s retirement, he and Teresa moved to Newport where they enjoyed many years of peaceful living, friends and family, beautiful scenery, wildlife, fishing, and hunting. During retirement Roger spent time as a Selectman, Board of directors at The Cultural Center, School Board, Credit Union, Water and Sewer Districts. He became a Mason in 2009. Roger is survived by his son, Mitchell Carr of Texas, his daughter and son in law, Pamela and Gaelo de la Fuente of Arkansas and his son Kevin Carr of Ohio. His brother Ogden Carr Jr., ten years his elder, resides in MA. In addition, Roger leaves behind 6 grandchildren that he was extremely proud of: Dalia, Victoria, Isa, Noah, Ariella, and MAC. Roger was predeceased unexpectedly by his wife Teresa in 2021 and prior to that his stepdaughter, Sue Palmer in May of 2017. Roger wishes to convey his thanks to all the friends and family that contributed to his life experiences. Cremation services are organized by Mike Crosby of Crosby Funeral Home in Newport. A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Newport in the Spring of 2023.
