Obituary
ARTHUR L. JACKSON Funeral services for Arthur L. Jackson, 86, who died Thursday, May 16, at the Plummer Memorial Hospital, Dexter, after a long period of failing health, were held Sunday afternoon at the Dexter Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard E. Benson officiating. Bearers were: Vernon Jewell, Raymond Mills, Norman Quimby, Homer Wilbur, Galen Wentworth, and George Safford, all of Dexter. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Garland. Survivors besides his widow, Mrs. Myrtie S. (Gerry) Jackson, are three sons, Lewis of Dover-Foxcroft, Galen of Sacramento, Calif., and Clifford of Bangor; five daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Jackson, Dexter; Mrs. Esther Swanton, West Buxton; Mrs. Gladys Shields, Wilton; Mrs. Helen Humphrey, Bangor; and Mrs. Clara Patterson of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, Sherwood Jackson, Guilford; five sisters, Mrs. Jennie Gordon, St Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Grace Jackson and Mrs. Bernice Young, both of Greenville; Mrs. Bertha Stevens, Guilford; and Mrs. Eva Edes of Sangerville; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Odd Fellows for more than 60 years. He was a member of Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge No. 18, Dexter, and Dexter Grange.
