Obituary
DEXTER - David "Dave" Harold York, 59, lost his valiant fight to an unknown disease that he suffered with for 3 years. His loving family and wife were at his side at Sebasticook Valley Hospital on the morning of December 9. 2022. David was born to his loving parents, a son of Bruce and Constance (Gray) York, Sr., on October 11, 1963. David grew up in Harmony and told tales of growing up in a small, country community with lots of adventure. He attended Harmony Elementary School, graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1981, and graduated from N.M.C.C., Class of 1985, as a Master Electrician. David was a hard worker and owned and operated York and Son Electric. He earned respect and made many friends working all over the country and in England. He had talents and abilities to fix anything including building and renovating until the time of his death. David will be remembered for many reasons, including his bright blue eyes, his extreme fun loving nature, his kindness to everyone he met, and his love for his family. After 9 years together he married Debbie (Theriault) York on Christmas Eve 2020. They had many adventures together, took loving care of each other, loved traveling, camping and spending time cooking and enjoying the family camp on Kingbury Pond. When David took time for himself he loved fishing. He especially looked forward to the York men's yearly fishing trip "up north" with his Day, brother, sons and grandson. For that reason, in lieu of flowers a donation in David's memory may be made to Dave's Fishing Fund, to provide children interesting in learning to fish the needed equipment to get started: c/o Joseph York, 1058 Silvers Mills Road, Sangerville, ME 04479. David is survived by his parents, a brother Bruce Jr. and wife Roxi York and their daughters Jessy and Vicki, and David's sister Dorothy Michaud, all of Harmony; three children and six grandchildren that he adored and showered with his love, his son Joseph and wife Lauren with their children Colton and Paisley of Sangerville; his daughter Samantha York and partner Brandon Hoffman and their children Isabella, Remi-Joanne, Willow and Maveric; a son Colby York, all of Harmony. David is also survived by Debbie's children, Dylan and wife Samantha Tibbets of Gardiner, Dalton Tibbetts of Pittston, and Parker Tibbets of Harmony, and David's father in law Philip Theriault of Dexter, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. he was predeceased by his Nana, Carolyn Reed, and his mother in law Carolyn Theriault. A casual celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 1 to 4 PM at the Harmony Elementary School to share stories and memories.
