Obituary
MRS. LULA A. BROWN Funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home Monday afternoon, May 13, for Mrs. Lula A. Brown, 80, who died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ivan Farrar, after a few weeks' illness. The Rev. Martin Lubenow of the Cambridge Baptist Church officiated. Nephews who acted as bearers were: Merwin Lander of Guilford; Eugene Packard and Carroll Austin, Parkman; Irvin Packard, Maurice Lander and William Packard, all of Cambridge. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Athens, Sept. 25, 1876, daughter of Oscar and Helen (Hussey) Lander. In the past, she had been employed at various times in the Dumbarton Woolen Mill at Dexter and the Madison Woolen Mill. She was a former member of the Skowhegan Rebekah Lodge, East Madison Grange and the Woman's Relief Corps. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Louise Farrar, Dexter; two brothers, Alfred Lander of Cambridge and Arthur Austin of Parkman; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. Out-of-state relatives here for the service were. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Kinson, Georgetown, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Preston Gould, Boxford, Mass., and Wayne Farrar of Schenectady, N Y. There were also many relatives and friends from Cambridge, Guilford, Ripley, Parkman and Madison.
