Obituary
SACO AND DEXTER - Nancy Jane Bolduc, 70, died unexpectedly at her family's camp in Dexter on July 22, 2022. She was born in Dexter on July 15, 1952, to Marilyn (Cross) and Fred R. Abbott. Fred suddenly passed away when Nancy was only 3 years old. Marilyn stayed in Dexter, and met and later married James McGaffin who raised Nancy and her siblings. They moved to Saco in 1956, where she would meet her husband, Robert J. Bolduc, Jr. "Buddy." They both graduated from Thornton Academy where her dad, Jim was the submaster in 1970. Nancy and Buddy went to UMaine in Orono and got married on June 23, 1973. After college, they moved to Boston for Buddy's optometry school and Nancy worked as a dorm mother at Fisher Junior College and had Kyle and Jenna. In 1980 they moved back to Saco, and Meredith was born in 1985. They have lived in Saco ever since. Nancy also worked on the board of Camp Laughing Loon, the front desk of Bolduc Eye Care, and dedicated herself to caring for her family. She also looked forward to her craft circles and Bible studies. Nancy was a beautiful woman inside and out, a beloved wife, caring mother, amazing mother-in-law, dedicated grandmother, loving daughter, special sister, and loyal friend. To know Nancy is to love her. She made everyone feel special. She wore her heart on her sleeve and could light up a room. She was open and caring, always allowing people to show up as their authentic selves. She created a beautiful, safe, and fun home for her kids, their friends, and later her grandchildren. She was a dedicated caregiver and loved her family more than anything. As Dylan said, she was like the power to Times Square and the fuel to their day-to-day life. Nancy also enjoyed reading in her backyard, long drives, going for walks, going to the beach, date nights with Buddy, a good dance party and speaking her truth. Life wasn't always easy, but she carried herself with grace, love, gratitude, and purpose. The hole she leaves behind can never be filled, but we will all do our best to honor her memory. Nancy was predeceased by her parents; father-in-law, Robert J. Bolduc; sister-in-law, Kim Bolduc; and brother-in-law, Alan. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Buddy; her children, Kyle, his wife, Angela, Jenna, her fiancé, Bruce, and Meredith; her grandchildren, Troy, Dylan, Coralyn, Brooklyn, Brady, and Richie; her siblings, Susan Graham; her husband, David, Don McGaffin, his wife, Cathy, Kathy Martin and her husband, Dennis; her in-laws, Charlotte Bolduc, Debbie Stetson, her husband Lloyd, Lynn Bolduc Jones; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A family graveside service will be planned at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco. For those wanting to honor Nancy, please tell your loved ones what they mean to you and spread kindness.
