JACKSONVILLE, FL AND DEXTER - Darryl Richard Bilodeau, 64, passed on July 3, 2022, after a brief illness at a Bangor hospital. He was born on September 12, 1957, in Skowhegan to Marilyn Joyce (Martell) Bilodeau and Richard Norman Bilodeau Sr. Darryl moved with the family from Skowhegan to Dexter in 1963. He graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 75, and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Darryl proudly served as a sonar technician and was a plank owner of the USS Oliver Hazard Perry FFG-7. After 6 honorable years of service, he retired from the military and settled in Jacksonville, FL working in the shipyard. He later joined Johnson & Johnson performing maintenance on their contact line until he retired in January 2021. Darryl loved the outdoors - camping, hiking, biking, taking pictures and all things University of Florida. Go Gators! His passion for travel led him around the country and his love for food led him to dozens of restaurants where he'd rank them on just how great their fried clams were!! He is survived by his twin children, Casey Margaret (Tempe, AZ) and Harlan Richard (Brooksville, FL); brothers, Kevin (Myrtle Beach, SC) and Richard Jr. and wife, Kimber (Levant, ME); nephew, Corbin; and nieces, Gabrielle and Ayla; sister-in-law, Donna; Uncle Raymond and wife, Helen; along with dozens of cousins and friends Darryl considered family, especially his paddle and hiking gang in Florida. Darryl was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Marilyn. Per his request, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held at the Dexter Fire Department on Friday, July 15, 2022. from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of attending, or in addition too, please take a day and go for a hike, a paddle, or out to dinner in Darryl's honor knowing he would suggest the fried clams! Arrangements are under the care of Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter. Those who wish may leave written condolences at CrosbyNeal.com. Published on July 8, 2022
