Obituary
OCALA, FL - Margaret "Peggy" Lagasse, 77, of Ocala, Florida, born Margret Elizabeth Weymouth, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. Peggy's son, John, and daughter-in-law, Barbie, were present and prayed with her before her passing. Peggy grew up in Monson, Maine, married John F. Yakulevich, moved to Greenville, and were part of that community for many years. She then moved to Dexter, Maine, where she met and married Peter Lagasse in 1980. They were happy together in Dexter until Peter passed. Her working career included owning and operating "Ye Old Red Rooster" gift shop in Greenville, working at Dexter Shoe, waitressing at T.J's Italian restaurant in Dexter, and at a large Construction company in Pittsfield as a receptionist, secretary and then as a personnel administrator. Peggy made friends quickly wherever she went. She always had a warm smile, and a willingness to help or just listen. Peggy, in any event, was willing to help family, friends and strangers. Mom loved people. She loved to visit and spend time together, whether it was over a simple cup of coffee or staging an elaborate family reunion. She was selfless and caring, putting other people first and was always a source of strength and encouragement to family and friends. She loved being together and laughing, and more than anything; she loved her grandchildren, and most recently, her great-granddaughter, Carolina Joy. I am so grateful to have had her as such an incredible example of kindness, honesty, and Christ-like strength. I am only now beginning to understand just how much she had to sacrifice to be the mother she was to me. Mom will be dearly missed, always loved, and never duplicated. Her parents, Clifton and Geraldine Weymouth of Monson, Maine; and brother, Robin, predeceased Peggy. Her sister, Barbara Caron; brother, Peter Weymouth; son, John Yakulevich; daughter-in-law, Barbie; and grandchildren, Michael, Christy (Sligh), Grace (Miller) and Joey survive her. A host of nieces and nephews, and close friend, Fran Seamans, also survive and miss her dearly. We request all of Peggy's friends and family to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Good Shepherd Presbyterian, 151 SW 87th Pl., Ocala, FL 34476, on April 2 at 11 a.m. Published on March 29, 2022
