DEXTER - Shirley Joanne (Palmer) Bryant, 87, died March 23, 2022, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born June 30, 1934, in Bangor, daughter of Lloyd C. and Gladys Marie (Sherburn) Palmer. She graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1952, and took business classes at Beal College. She also attended cooking, baking, school bus driving and floral design classes. Shirley and her husband owned and operated "Bryant the Florist," Dexter, for 16 years. She was employed at G. S. Seavey & Son, Florist in Bangor, Dexter Shoe, S.A.D. 4 guidance office and S.A.D. 46 as a baker. Shirley will be remembered for her love of baking cookies, fudge and other goodies that she loved to give to businesses and individuals. Shirley is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ted; their daughter, Sharon (Bryant) Elias; and their son, Donald and wife, Barbara Bryant; grandchildren, Jacob Bryant, Elizabeth (Bryant) Corsi and Sarah (Bryant) Harper; 6 great-grandchildren, Luetta, Matilda and Violet Harper, Emma, Jack and Ellie Corsi; sisters, Mary Kelliher, Jayne Slonsky, and Joyce Coombs; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, John Elias; a sister, Ruth Stone; brothers, Edward, Earl, Everett and Gerald; and brothers-in-law, George Kelliher, James Slonsky and Harold Coombs. At her request, there is no service. A gathering for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
