Obituary
BANGOR - Elizabeth Ryerson Cain, 101, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2022. She was born on August 10, 1920, in Dexter, and was the only child of Frank Wilbur Folsom and Grace Edith (Bridge) Folsom. Elizabeth "Betty" was a graduate of N. H. Fay High School. On June 8, 1939, she married Gerald "Jerry" Snow of Bradford. While her husband was serving overseas during World War II, Betty worked at Fay and Scott, assembling the famous M7 Grenade Launcher. After the War, Jerry's work as a mechanical engineer took the family to Uxbridge, Massachusetts; Falmouth, Maine; Worcester, Pennsylvania; Wilmington, Delaware; and Cumberland, Maine. They eventually retired to Bradford. Their passion was traveling across North America with their Airstream travel trailer and faithful companion, Daisy May. Betty was a longtime member of the Bradford Lodge of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies (IARA). She is survived by 3 children, Jeffrey J. Snow of Etna, Holly J. Burnell and her husband Jay Burnell, of Tamworth, New Hampshire, and G. Bradley Snow and his wife, Jolene Snow, of Bradford. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Matthew Wallace of Westbrook, Nathan Wallace of Biddeford, Amanda Snow of Stafford, Virginia, and Elizabeth Snow of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was greatly loved and will be missed. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Mark A. Snow, who died in infancy; her first husband, Gerald A. Snow; and her second husband, Lindell J. Cain. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Bangor, after which a committal will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
