Obituary	MRS. MATTIE ELLIS Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Mrs. Mattie Ellis, 84, who died Friday, Feb. 15, at the Cushman Convalescent Home after a short illness. The Rev. Howard E. Benson of the Methodist Church officiated and the Rebekahs conducted their service. Bearers were: Norman Batey, Mervin Haskell, Floyd Hammond, all of Dexter; and Leroy Cole of Bangor. The remains were entombed and burial will take place this spring in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The widow of Benson Ellis, Mrs. Ellis was born in Dexter, Oct. 6, 1872, daughter of Charles and Mary (Leighton) Farrar. She was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church and Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge, No. 18. In the past, she had taught school in the Dexter area. She is survived by a brother, Ernest Farrar of Dexter; a niece and several cousins.
