Obituary
DEXTER - On Monday, March 30, 2020, the family of Sharon Ann Grant, unexpectedly lost its rock. Sharon was a loving grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and mother of two. She passed away at age 73, just one week shy of her 74th birthday. Born on April 6, 1946, in Dexter to Roger and Alice (Wright) Flynn, she relished her role as "Grammie Sharon" to her own precious grandchildren, and to her siblings' grandchildren as well as the children of several special friends. She loved her "framily" at Tillson's Hardware. She was known for her generosity of time and dedication to her hometown of Dexter. She had amazing ways to make sure that those she encountered knew that she cared for them and/or the causes that they were working on. She loved spending time with her "girlfriends", Gayanne, Barbie, and Janie, and taking annual girls' trips to Boston, the beach, and beyond. She enjoyed her role as event planner and chauffeur to "the ladies", Joyce, Gladys, and Amy. She had a passion for her beloved Black Bears hockey team and the Red Sox. When she rescued her dog, Bowie, she wanted to rename him Mookie and recently expressed relief that she hadn't, since he's now gone to another team. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Sue Boyington) Busque and her granddaughters Juliana and Taylor Williams-Busque; her son William Boyington, Jr. and his wife Annelise and two grandsons Alexander and Zachariah; her sisters and brother-in-law, Sandi Silverman and Janie and Bobby Fritsch; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Velva Flynn, Michael Flynn, Patrick, and Julie Flynn, Brenda Flynn, and Laura Maul; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family to her - her "framily". Sharon was predeceased by her father, mother, husband Barry Grant, brother Steven Flynn, brother-in-law James Silverman, and sister-in-law Linda Bridgham. A graveside service will be held at future date in the summer of 2020. Donations may be made in her honor and memory in support of Dexter Age Friendly Community, 23 Main Street, Dexter, Maine 04930.
