Obituary	Corinna - Viola Mayhew, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on February 23, 2021 surrounded by her children. She was born in Woodland, ME June 1, 1933 to John and Mildred Johnson. The family moved to North Dexter when later in her teens she met the love of her life, Joseph Mayhew. They were married on December 5, 1950 almost celebrating their 66 anniversary before losing her husband to cancer. Together they raised five children. She became a stay at home mom and took in others to babysit until their family grew up. Mom was well known for her homemade donuts, sweets, breads and family meals. Later she helped her husband in the office at Mayhew's Garage in Dexter where they resided for years. She was always there for her family and friends helping anyway she could. Mom and dad enjoyed their family and couldn't wait to have visits with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are left with many cherished memories. Especially the Christmas breakfast they enjoyed putting on for us and sharing many laughs with their family. They had a lot of loss in their family, but God gave them the strength to live each day. Losing her husband left a bigger hole in her heart. She told me the Lord gave her a good life, extra time with her children and family which she is sad to leave, but she is ready to be with our dad and family in Heaven. Viola was predeceased by her husband, son Randy, granddaughter Brandi Scales, and two grandsons Dougie Mayhew and Ryan Webber, sisters Mable, Leona, Kathleen and Helen. Survived by her son Douglas (Linda), daughters Nancy (Randy), Connie, Judy (Roger), grandchildren Danielle, Michael, Nikki and Chris. Great grandchildren Aiden, Cameron, Tucker, Parker, Colton, Baylee, Rylee, Nolan, Lydia. Sisters Cora, Carolyn, brother Oscar. The family would like to thank Dr. Lodata, his staff and hospice for the excellent care and kindness given to our mother. At the family's request there will be no gathering. Spring burial will be at Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
