Obituary	SOLOMON G. MERCHANT Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Solomon G. Merchant, 94, who died late last Thursday afternoon at the home of his son, Kenneth, on the North Dexter road. The Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the First Baptist Church officiated. Bearers were: Edward Lambert, Alfred McKenney, Glen Arno, and Robert Eaton. Remains were placed in the Mt. Pleasant tomb and interment will take place later in Evergreen Cemetery Millbridge. Born in Hancock, Aug. 1, 1862, son of Solomon G. and Sarah (Thorne) Merchant, he had lived in Dexter for 24 years. Besides his son, Kenneth, with whom he made his home, he is survived by a step-son, Curtis Robinson, of Millbridge; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Dow, Millbridge and Mrs. Maybell Boyle of Newport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
