RIPLEY – George H. Lobdell, 69, passed away April 24, 2010, at a Boston hospital. He was born June 14, 1940, in Athens, a son of Hester (White) Nadeau. He attended N.H. Faye High School, Dexter, and served in the U.S. Army, 1966-1968. George worked at Dexter Shoe Co. for 43 years, and graduated as a barber from Michael’s School of Hair Design and Aesthetics, April 12, 2003. He worked for the past seven years as a custodian at Central High School, Corinth, and thoroughly enjoyed his time there with staff and students. He also loved spending time on his “party boat” with friends and family. George fulfilled his lifelong dream and got his pilot’s license. He was predeceased by his wife, Gail (Castonguay) Lobdell, Nov. 21, 1996. He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Jones of Ripley; his son, James and wife, Shelley Lobdell, of Hampden; his daughter, Nicci and husband, Kevin Webber, of Garland; son, Stephen Lobdell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Abigail and Kaitlyn Webber, and Brady and Jenna Lobdell; two brothers, William and wife, Nancy Lobdell, of Augusta and Ronald and wife, Jean Lobdell, of Sarasota, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, with Pastor Peter Davis officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. A memorial scholarship has been established to benefit a Central High School 2010 graduate, care of Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union, P.O.
