Obituary	JOSEPH EDGAR ATWATER Joseph Edgar Atwater, 87, died Tuesday afternoon at the local hospital where he had been a patient for several days. The remains are at the home of a son, Robert Atwater, Old Newport road, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10: 30 a. m. at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard E. Benson officiating. The remains will be entombed and burial will take place this spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. He was born at Dexter, Feb. 12, 1869 the son of William and Mary J. (Grant) Atwater. He was a life long resident of this town and was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by seven sons, Randall of Topsham, Hugh and Robert of Dexter, Charles of Waycross, Ga., Roland of Dexter, Archie, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Maurice of Dexter; six daughters, Mrs. Doris Potts, Elmira, N. Y., Mrs. Eleanor Easler and Mrs. Imogene Cameron, both of Dexter; Mrs. Wilder Bridgham, Portland; Mrs. Barbara Clark, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Julia Roberts, Dexter; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
