PHILIP C. CLUKEY RIPLEY Philip C. Clukey, 57, died unexpectedly February 1, 2002 at his home in Ripley. He was born July 2, 1944 at Bangor the son of Charles Raymond and Mabel (Keezer) Clukey. He attended a number of schools in the Bangor and Augusta area. Philip's family moved to Ripley in 1966, where he met his best friend and wife of 31 years, Jeanette (Glidden) Clukey. He worked as a dairy farmer for 35 years, 30 of which he and Jeanette owned and operated their Ripley dairy farm. He was a taxidermist since his teenage years, and had become a well known professional taxidermist during the past 10 years, assisted by his wife. His outstanding artistic ability was evident in his beautiful recreations, and he took great pride in his work. Jeanette and Philip were always together. They fulfilled a lifelong dream in 1999 by traveling to Alaska, where they enjoyed fishing and sightseeing. He was a devoted member of the Dexter 7th Day Adventist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother of St. Albans; 2 sons, Scott and wife Lisa Clukey of Cambridge, and Rick Clukey of Ripley; 5 grandchildren, a special mother-in-law, Phyllis Glidden of Ripley; 2 sisters, Dorothy Peters and husband Glen of St. Albans, Barbara Fitzpatrick and husband Keven of Sherwood, Oregon; 3 brothers, Maurice Clukey of St. Albans, Kenneth Clukey of Caribou, Charles Clukey and wife Karen of St. Albans; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, special friends, and his church family. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 6th at the Dexter 7th Day Adventist Church, Spring Street, Dexter, with Pastor Roger Gilbert officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral in the Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans.
