Obituary	RIPLEY -- Ivan Dwight Chadbourne, 82, died Sept. 7, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born on Aug. 12, 1930, in Moscow, Maine, the son of Merle G. And Berle (Whittemore) Chadbourne. On June 6, 1950, he married Joan Taylor in Harmony. He worked for many years as a hand sewer in mills in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, then was a self-employed antiques dealer in Glen Cove for 20 years. He also bought and sold cattle and his greatest passion was buying, selling and "wheeling and dealing." He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan (Taylor) Chadbourne, of Ripley; four sons, Bernard Chadbourne and wife, Diane, of Ripley, Neil Chadbourne and wife, Alberta ,of Ripley, Ivan Chadbourne, Jr. And wife, Tracy, of Harmony, Aaron Chadbourne and wife, Darlene, of Palmyra; several grandchildren and great-grandchldren; three brothers, Arthur Chabourne and wife, Geraldine, of Gardiner, Robert Chadbourne and wife, Roberta,, of Harmony, Archie Chadbourne and wife, Jackie, of Garland; two sisters, Irene McKay and husband, Clarence, of Gardiner, and Florence Sinclair of Harmony; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m., at the home of Ivan and Joan Chadbourne, 97 Laughton Road, Ripley. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in Ivan's memory to a charity of their choice.
