Obituary	JEFFERSON D. MORRISON On Tuesday death took Jefferson D. Morrison, aged 94, who was symbolic holder of the Boston Post gold-headed cane, although the cane itself had been lost. Mr. Morrison died at his home on Spring street Tuesday morning after a long illness. The remains were at the home until this afternoon (Thursday) when services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynwood Putnam of the Free Baptist Church officiating. The remains were placed in the tomb to await burial this spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bearers were Robert Dundas, Pittsfield; Eldred Crocker, Portsmouth, N. H.; George Safford and Hollis Seamans, Dexter. He was born March 16, 1862 at Maysville, son of Sylvenus and Nancy (Freeman) Morrison. He had lived in Dexter for 43 years and was employed as fireman at the local mills and business blocks on Main street. For a number of years he was night watchman for the town. A skilled woodsman, he was a guide in Canada for many years during his earlier days. He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Young) Morrison; one daughter, Mrs. Marion Dundas, of Pittsfield; several nieces and nephews; a grandson, Robert Dundas of Pittsfield.
