Glennis Ella Vanadestine, 69, of Yulee, FL passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida, following a short battle with Covid-19. She was born November 9, 1951, in Dexter, Maine the daughter of Joseph Ernest LeVasseur and Mary Olive Nichols (Warner). She graduated from Nokomis Regional High School in 1970. Glennis pursued her career as a hair designer and nurse. She received multiple recognitions for her nursing skills and compassion she showed towards our Veterans. During her time at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals, Glennis traveled between the Togus and Gainesville VA Hospitals. She loved and was passionate about her work in Hospice and Palliative care. Glennis retired from the VA in May 2011 and moved permanently to her beloved state of Florida. Glennis is survived by her sisters Rose, Joan, Anita “Pootsie”, Della, and brother Paul as well as multiple nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Linwood (Peanut) Vanadestine, her twin Dennis, older brother Maynard, sister Sally, and nephew Dirk Robinson. A celebration of life service was held at the Christian Fellowship Church, 850987 US-17 Yulee Florida on Sunday September 12th, 2021, at 2:00 pm. A graveside committal service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland Maine on Saturday, October 9th, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
