Obituary	RIPLEY—Ronald D. Sinclair, Sr., 71, went home to be with the Lord and joined his heavenly family and friends on June 19, 2021 after a long hard fought battle with liver disease. He was born February 23, 1950 in Ripley a son of Vernal and Phyllis (Deering) Sinclair. Ron worked alongside his father cutting wood beginning in his teens and enjoyed helping his father at numerous horse pulling competitions across the State of Maine during his youth. He later worked several years as an auto mechanic at Brook’s Tire and Auto before starting Sinclair’s Auto Sales with his brother, Vernal. He reluctantly retired in late 2018, when his failing health prevented him from physically being able to perform the rigors that mechanical work requires. Ron’s family was his pride and joy and he never missed an opportunity to express his love for them, whether it be telling them, giving them one of his amazing hugs, or doing something special for them. That trait extended beyond his immediate family and there are countless stories told by the many who were on the receiving end of his many acts of kindness. Ron was a man of many talents. There wasn’t a machine on this planet that he could not fix. He spent numerous hours in his beloved garage over the years with his “crew”, laughing, joking and ribbing each other. He loved gathering with family and friends whenever he could, especially if food was involved. He had a sweet tooth and loved treating his grandchildren to a trip to the store for a drink and a snack whenever he could. He was a shining example of a life well lived, always putting others needs above his own and helping anyone in need; strangers included. He was the golden standard as a husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Life will not be the same without his love and guidance. His grandchildren have lost a mentor and best friend. We will forever cherish the precious memories made, which will provide comfort in the difficult days ahead. To know him was to love him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; his children and their spouses, Ronald and Jenny Sinclair, Rachel and Donald Day, Jason and Jenessa Sinclair, and Andrew and Lacy Sinclair; his beloved grandchildren, Amber and significant other Corey, Bryan and wife Anna, Trevyn, Gage, Riley, Evan, Ashley, Shelby and Erik; great granddaughter Ellie June, due to arrive in August; sisters, Wilma Wintle, Beverly Erving and Bonnie Smart; brother Gary and wife Holly Sinclair; brothers in law, Samuel and wife Betty Lovely, Thomas LeVasseur, Jr., Douglas and wife Sandra LeVasseur; sister in law Ethel Blair and special sister in law Jerice Sinclair; many special nieces and nephews; his canine companion Boop and grandpups, PooPoo, Lucy, Ruger, Esther, Macie, and Memphis; and special friends, Lionel Getchell and Aaron Bolduc. He was predeceased by his parents, an infant brother, and older brother and best friend, Vernal M. Sinclair. There will be no public visiting hours at his request. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, June 24th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. A private family committal will be held at Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley.
