Obituary	Dexter – Dave “Duke” W. Leighton, 54, passed away unexpectedly June 12, 2021, in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born October 8, 1966, in Eastport, the son of Walter L. and Ruth (Duplisea) Leighton. Duke enjoyed fishing, driving, history, listening to and watching the Yankees play. Throughout his life Duke had many hats, including part-time police officer, firefighter, facility manager, and also educator. He loved watching his students grow and enjoyed teaching them valuable life skills. Duke is survived by his two sons, Brandon Leighton and his wife, Emily, of Glenburn, and Jacob Leighton of Dexter; parents, Walter and Ruth Leighton of Pembroke; two brothers; and the mother of his children, Susan Leighton of Dexter. A Celebration of Duke’s Life will be held 6-8 PM Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 20 Cedar Street, Dexter.
