Obituary	HARRIS LESTER TILLSON 1869 - 1937 Harris L. Tillson, commonly known as "Harry", was the son of Isaac S. and Ellen Drake Tillson. He was born in Dexter, Maine, March 31, 1869 and died there on January 9, 1937, having spent his life in his native town except for a short time when he worked at his trade in Massachusetts. He served an apprenticeship to the firm of Foss and Crockett, plumbers and tin-men, and after Mr. Foss' retirement from the firm Mr. Crockett and Mr. Tillson entered into partnership under the firm name of Crockett & Tillson. After ten years this firm was dissolved and Mr. Tillson bought out the plumbing business of Owen E. Blackden, situated on lower Main street and took Henry S. Drew as a partner, and they carried on the business under the firm name of Tillson & Drew. They soon moved into one of the stores on Grove street owned by the Grange where they built up a good business. Mr. Drew died in 1915. After some years Mr. Tillson purchased the Fish Block, so called on the northerly side of Main street, and moved the business to that location where it has since remained. Mr. Tillson married Mary E. Pierce, daughter of Thomas H. B. and Mary V. (Brackett) Pierce and they had one son, Rufus Harris Tillson who was associated with his father in the business under the title of H. L. Tillson & Company and has carried on the business since his fathers death. Mr. Tillson was a faithful member of Plymouth Lodge, I. 0. 0. F. Mr. Tillson was a good neighbor and was highly esteemed in the business world.
