Obituary	Michael Ward Shipman, Sr. June 30, 1964 - November 27, 2020 DEXTER – Michael Ward Shipman, Sr., 56, died November 27, 2020 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born June 30, 1964 in Hialeah, Florida, a son of Hugh and Carolyn (Poe) Shipman. Mike had a varied career starting with the U.S. Navy, where he was deployed on nuclear submarines around the world during the Cold War. He enjoyed visiting ports around the globe. Mike also served as a police officer in Georgia, received a B.S. in Business Administration, and served as Director of Public Works for the City of Clarkston, Georgia. Mike and his wife retired to Dexter, Maine in 2017. He is survived by his wife, Lassie (Pierce) Shipman, of Dexter; a daughter and husband, Regina and Michael Ratner of Taylor, Texas. Mike was predeceased by a son Michael, Jr. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to the T.A.P.S. program, 3033 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.
