Obituary	Walter L. Alton, 64, died Jan 3 at the home of his daughter in Ripley after a long illness. He was born in Athens, March 18, 1913 He had been a resident of St. Albans for the past 40 years. He had been employed at the Hartland Tanning Co. and also had been engaged in farming. He is survived by his widow, Mrs, Hazel Alton of St. Albans; one son, Robert Alton of Sebec four daughters , Mrs. Gloria Laney of Gray, Mrs. Catherine Johnston of Milo; Mrs. Irene Badger of Sebec and Joyce Ann Tripp of Ripley; three half brothers ; one half sister; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Jan 5 at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Hartland
