Obituary	Word was received in this city Tuesday morning of the death of Miss Effie Bernice Coughlin, which occurred Monday night at Hebron sanitarium where she has been receiving treatment for the past few months. Miss Coughlin was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Coughlin of Dexter, formerly of Ellsworth. She graduated from the Dexter High School in the calls of 1907 with highest honors. Later she accepted a position as a teacher in the grammar school which position she held until she was obliged to leave for the sanitarium. Her condition had been improving all the time and she was expected home this week but Friday a change came when meningitis set in and life slowly ebbed away. Miss Coughlin was of a quiet and lovable disposition making friends easily. She was one of the most popular girls in Dexter and highly respected. The news came as a great shock and her demise will be greatly mourned not alone by the family of the deceased but also by her host of friends. Miss Coughlin was 20 years of age. She leaves besides a father and mother, one sister, May, and five brothers. The funeral services have not yet been arranged.
