On December 22, 2018 the Lord invited Robert Richard Joseph Allard to his eternal home. Bob was born on March 7, 1939 in a french speaking mill town in Rhode Island. He graduated high school in 1956 at the age of 17, then joined the U.S. Air Force seeking travel and adventure. Bob continuously volunteered for foreign duty and spent 14 of his 20 year military career serving on foreign soil, including a tour in Vietnam (67/68). In 1970 while stationed in Germany he met and married Marion J. Pattee from Pittsfield ME. They were blessed with two fine daughters, Jeannine Marie, wife of Tim Bland of Ellsworth, ME, and Katherine Anne to Mark Trapela of Bradenton FL. Jeannine and Tim further enhanced the family by adding two lovely girls Lindsay and Abigail, who reside with their parents. In 1976, Bob retired from the military and moved his family to Winterport, ME, residing there for the nest 25 years until both girls had graduated from UMO. Bob spent the first five years of his civilian life working in and Bangor bank while attending Husson University, graduating with a cum laude in accounting and accepting a position as Financial manager with the James W. Sewall Co. of Old Town for the next 30 years.Bob retired in 2011 following the death of his wife from early onset Alzheimers. Her last five years were spent at Westgate Manor Alzeheimers Unit where she received excellent care.during his wifes residency at Westgate, Bob attended many support group meetings where he met Wilma Johannesen whose husband was also residing at Westgate. Following the deaths of their spouses, Bob and Wilma decided to share their senior years in a partnership of love, joy and happiness. Two years ago they found their ideal home in Dexter, of which both are extremely proud. Bob is a member of St Annes Catholic Church in Dexter, and his ashes are to be buried on a warm summer day in the Kenduskeag cemetery without fanfare, as per his wishes.
