Obituary	Funeral Sat. For Victim Of Fall A requiem High Mass will be celebrated for Eustice J. Clukey, 55, of Dexter at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 9 a. m. Saturday with the Rev. Joseph Sevigny officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant cemetery. The body is at the residence on the Shore road, Dexter where friends may call. Eustice J. Clukey died late Wednesday afternoon from injuries received when a staging outside the Guy L. Clark Inc. showroom collapsed hurling him with a companion, 25 feet to the ground. Penobscot County Medical Examiner Dr. H. Lewis Taylor said that Clukey, who landed on his back in the fall, died within a few minutes of a broken neck. With Clukey at the time of the accident was Kenneth Brawn, about 40, also of Dexter. The two men had been engaged in painting the garage and showroom of Guy L. Clark, Inc., motor vehicle dealers. Brawn was examined at the Plummer Memorial Hospital by Dr. Hans Shurman of Dexter and released. Dr. Shurman said that preliminary examination revealed no broken bones. Dexter Police Chief Harold Knox said that according to witnesses the wooden staging collapsed without warning. A brother, Anthony Clukey, also a member of the painting crew working on the ground was the first to reach the scene. An official of the Clark firm said that he had visited the men at work on the job just a few minutes before the accident and had noted nothing wrong. He said he had just reached home when notified of the fall. Investigating with Police Chief Knox was State Trooper Robert Marcia and Deputy Sheriff C. F. Marsh. Mr. Clukey was born Dec. 12, 1901 at Dexter, the son of George and Victoria (Cleaves) Clukey. He had lived all his life in the Dexter area where he was engaged in carpenter and painting work. Besides his wife, Mrs. Flora (Dulac) Clukey, he is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Maxine Diadone, Mrs. Vonnie Fanjoy, both of Dexter; two brothers, Anthony of Dexter, William of Sangerville; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Hollis of Brewer, Mrs. Ida McNair of Dexter, Mrs. Madaline Ellms of Dexter; two grandchildren.
