Obituary
Helen (Farrar) Edgerly, 98, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at a Bangor hospital. She was born February 18, 1920 in Dexter, a daughter of Harold M. and Ruth (Call) Farrar. She graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1988. After graduating she held secretarial jobs at Abbott Woolen Mills and the Pierce Agency, as well as doing farm income tax returns. She married Arthur W. Edgerly on January 16, 1943. In 1961, Arthur died in a boating accident. Helen had a strong love for her family. She enjoyed having the family gather at the farm. The holidays were her favorite; always cooking and baking goodies for them and later teaching her grandchildren to bake cookies, bread, pies, and making mincemeat. She was a member of the South Sangerville Grange #335 for 75 years. Helen is survived by her sister, Ethelyn Langley; son, Marvin and wife Donna Edgerly; 2 daughters, Joyce Pratt and significant other Dennis Ballard and Dorothy and husband Ralph Turner; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Suzanne and Larry Nowinski, Michael and Lisa Pratt, Diana and Chris Mitchell, and Dean and Rebecca Turner; 9 great grandchildren, Summer pratt, Garrett pratt, David McIntyre, Bradley and wife Bryndi McIntyre, Marcus McIntyre and fiance Britany Seale, Garrett McElrath, Rylie Turner, Reid Mitchell and Grant Mitchell; 1 great great granddaughter, Savannah Pratt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. she will especially be remembered by dear friends, Barbara Wilson and Elizabeth Cain. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 3 brothers, Raymond, Roger and Galen Farrar; and 2 sisters-in-law. the service was held August 22nd., at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, with the Rev. Ray Beless officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, following the service. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Dexter Historical Society, P. O.
