Obituary
Doug Doyon, 86, died September 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 27, 1913 in Dexter, a son of Joseph and Cecilia (Goulette) Doyon. He graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1950; Farmington State Teachers College, Class of 1954; and the University of Maine, Orono, Class of 1961 with a Masters Degree in Education. After teaching for 4 years in Hartland, Doug served as principal of Eastland Elementary School and the Corinna Junior High School for 33 years, retiring in 1991. He also was the principal filling vacancies in Boothbay Habor, Dexter, and Newport. Doug was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of The Snows, St. Annes Church in Dexter. Music was always a big part of Dougs life, serving many years as cantor and choir member at St. Annes. He also belonged to the Dexter community chorus that sang weekly at the Dexter Healthcare, and performed annual canatas for Christmas abd Easter. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was a longtime member of the Plummer Foundation. Doug was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed all Boston area sports. He enjoyed following his childrens and grandchildrens sport activites. He is survived by a son Peter and wife Kimberly of Cape Elizabeth; daughter Amy and husband Scott Weber of Dexter; a brother Hilary Doyon of FL; four grandchildren, Dana and Olivia Webber, Ella and Jack Doyan; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Dotty; and siblings, Loretta Clifford, Beverl Ward, Clifford "Deak" and Dana Doyan. A Mass of Christian Burial, was celebiated Wednesday, September 19 at St. Annes Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Rob Lupo officiating. Burial wil be at Mt. Plesant Cemetery, Dexter.
