Gerald Herrick, Sr., 76, died July 12, 2018 at Mayo Regional hospital with family by his side. He was born in, Parkman, August 2, 1941, a son of Eliphlet and Catherine (Jones) Herrick. Gerald graduated from PCHS,Class of 1959. He married Mary Elizabeth Thompson on July 25, 1959. Gerald worked at Dexter Shoe Company for a while as one of the original handsewers. In the early 70s he went to work for Scott Motor Company in Belfast. He raced and owned Standardbred horses in the 70s and 80s. He always enjoyed woods work which was his passion. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary; daughters Laurie Herrick of Dexter, Cathy Hartley, husband Jerry, and beloved grandson Aaron, all o{ Freedom; 6 brothers, Clinton, Wynne and wife Leslyn, all of Abbot; Gordon of Palmyra, Eliphlet and wife Janet of Skowhegan, Vernal and wife Anna Maria of Cambridge; 2 sisters, Marlene Kimball of Palmyra, Rosalyn and husband Norman Campbell of Parkman; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister in law Dottie. Gerald was predeceased by a son Gerald, Jr. and brother Roland. At his request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
