Obituary	It is with deep and abiding sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Gilbert. Gladys, known affectionately by her family as Nana, died peacefully at home on August 30, 2017 in the care of her family. Born November 15, 1925 in Hartland, Maine she was the daughter of Albert and Edith (Whitten) Deering. Gladys was raised in Hartland, graduated from Hartland Academy and attended the Melrose [MA] School of Nursing. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Terrence J. Gilbert, brothers Donald and Maynard and sister Phyllis. Gladys moved to Dexter, where for 72 years she raised her family. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and cherished each new great, great, grandchild that came into her life. Gladys is survived by two daughters: Pamela Nadeau, and Benita Rudmin and husband Gerrard Rudmin of Dexter; two sons, Terrence P. Gilbert and wife Deirdre of Bloomfield, Ct and Christopher Gilbert and wife Wanda of Centreville, VA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Katrina Caracol-Parker and partner Denise, Kevin Nadeau, William Rudmin and wife Valerie, Hans Rudmin and wife Jessica, Thomas Rudmin and wife Katie, Wendi Ward and husband Danny, Joshua Gilbert and wife Amy, Emily Russo and husband Chris, Jessica Kaleta and husband Eric, Caitlin Gilbert and partner Isabelle. A special nephew, Michael Sawyer and wife Lourdes of Ontario Lake, CA and special niece, Carol Lackey and husband Gary of Wilmington, VL She was also Grammy to Peter Clukey and wife Mary, Christine Reece and husband Jon, Sean Sawyer and wife Jen and Casey Sawyer. Gladys is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Marjorie Deering and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families. She also leaves her pet cat, April, who will miss sleeping on her lap. Gladys was a communicant of St. Annes Church, Our Lady of the Snows Parish and a past member of the Daughters of Isabella. Left behind are her friends from the Literary Club, the Golden Age Club, the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was a past 5th District president, and her Prayer Group from Saint Annes Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held September 9, 2017, 11:00 AM at St. Annes Church, 64 Free Street, Dexter. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
