Obituary	John A. Prescott passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 22, 2017, in Sarasota Florida at age 82. John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Prescott of Sarasota, his children; Deborah, Katherine and her husband Michael, Barbara and her husband Robert, grandchildren, Jessica and her partner Ward, Casey and his wife Margaret, Gabby, Emilee and her partner Eric, Sydney and Joanna, and Sonny and his wife Gaye. John was born on August 1, 1935 in Dexter Maine to Clarence and Thelma Prescott. John graduated from Dexter High School on 1953 and joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Boxer until 1957. John returned to Dexter where he married Patricia Rabideau and joined the Dexter Police Department until 1974 when he became the Police Chief in Kennebunkport Maine. John retired in 1992. John was appointed by President George H.W. Bush to serve on the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board from 1990-1994. An avid fisherman John and Pat enjoyed their time on their boat fishing in both the Florida Keys and Kennebunkport. John also enjoyed his time with his grand children. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held in Kennebunkport Maine in the spring 2018
