Obituary	MRS. NELLIE A. HAMMOND Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Mrs. Nellie A. Hammond, 90, widow of William Hammond, who died Saturday morning at the Plummer Hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the First Baptist Church officiated. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Bearers were: Linwood Flanders of Guilford; Dr. Frank Hanscom, Unity; Darrell Cookson, Glenburn; and Elwood Cookson, Bangor. She was born at Linneus, May 19, 1866, daughter of Christopher and Mary (Sawtelle) Cookson. For the past 20 years she had been employed as housekeeper at the home of Milton Woodcock in Ripley. Because of ill health, she retired this past May and since then has resided in an apartment in the home of her son, Floyd Hammond, of Pleasant street, Dexter, who survives. She is also survived by another son, Raymond E., of Guilford; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hatch of Dexter, Mrs. Edna Durgin of Saco, Mrs. Gertrude Christie of Mapleton; one brother, George Cookson of Glenburn; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Among relatives and friends attending from out-of-town were: Dr. and Mrs. Frank Hanscom, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Flanders, all of Guilford; Mrs. Gertrude Christie, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Christie, Sylvia and Alex, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christie, all of Mapleton; George and Darrell Cookson, Mrs. Clara Cole and Mrs. Marion Knowles, all of Glenburn; Bert Hunt, Stockton Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Cookson, Bangor; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Durgin, Saco; Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Carpenter and Andrew Cookson, Milo; and Mrs. Maynard Poole, Dover-Foxcroft; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ordway, Corinna; Mr. and Mrs. John Woodcock, Pittsfield, Miss Dorothy Woodcock, Augusta.
